Jason Byrne

Cirque Du Byrne

Presented by Fox in the Snow. The Spiegeltent – Mar 10 to 13

In true Jason Byrne style audience participation was high on the list in this performance, Byrne opening the show with skipping and dancing after dragging two unsuspecting male audience members up on stage!

Dressed appropriately for the Spiegeltent, ring master Byrne wasted no time getting his audience going. He was quick to take the piss from his audience likening Adelaide to the middle of Ireland, full of little people sporting funny haircuts. Even Australian politics wasn’t safe, and Julia Gillard didn't escape lightly. There’s no script here – and if there is Byrne uses it as a guide only, adlibbing in true comedic style perfectly transitioning from one surprise scenario to the next. Religion quickly followed politics, the city of churches copping a serve for having more religious buildings than we know how to use! Byrne proves that religion, sex and politics on the first date truly make for a night of hilarity.

This fringe performance is a cheek achingly good time, don’t miss it.
