‘Flood’ is a controversial new production, following 6 young white Australians on their camping trip to the pristine outback. They unintentionally violate sacred land, and an Indigenous man is murdered.
“We expect ‘Flood’ to unsettle audiences and get them talking,” says Producer Marco Marando. “When I first read the script, I knew this was a play that needed to be performed in Adelaide by our next generation of theatre makers. The play shines a light on cultural divide in modern Australia and gives voice to a generation flooded with guilt. ”
‘Flood’ has been cast with 6 of Adelaide’s best new graduates from Flinders University Drama Centre and Adelaide College of the Arts, and will be the directing debut of AC Arts graduate Max Garcia-Underwood.

The Arts Theatre was opened in 1963 by Governor Eric Bastyan as a result of an initiative by the Adelaide Repertory Theatre company. The Rep, which had previously been performing in various locations around Adelaide, had raised funds to build the theatre as their permanent performance space.
Hosting around fourteen shows a year, the theatre has served not only the members of the Repertory Theatre, but also other theatre groups and the community at large, for over thirty years
