Simon has been mesmerised by films since seeing Le ballon rouge (The Red Balloon, 1956) at primary school. He has previously written for Metro magazine, online journal Senses of Cinema, and has previewed films for the Adelaide Film Festival. Simon has a Ph.D. in Screen and Media from Flinders University based on research into Hollywood widescreen films. During the day Simon works as a tutor in Media at the University of Adelaide and in the Communications degree at the University of South Australia. His other interests include music, sport, and politics.
